Yvonne Agnes Green (affectionately known as Bonnie) was born November 23, 1941 in Cambridge, MA to Mildred and Herman Green, the youngest of their eight children. She is predeceased by her brothers Rev. Herman (Joe) and Clifford and her sisters Cynthia and Bernice.

Yvonne attended schools in Cambridge and Somerville, MA and graduated from Somerville High School. Upon graduation from high school, Yvonne obtained a position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and then she worked for over 40 years at Harvard University where she excelled as an Administrative Assistant, most recently at the prestigious Harvard Business School before her retirement. She provided support to many professors and administrators, keeping them “in line and on track” for which they were grateful. 

Yvonne loved to travel with friends and she was blessed to visit many islands in the Caribbean as well as Australia and New Zealand. On her travels she collected artwork that adorned the walls of her home reminding her of the good times she had. 

Yvonne was a faithful member of Pentecostal Tabernacle in Cambridge, MA for many years. Not one to seek recognition or praise, Yvonne worked diligently behind the scenes to support the ministry and to help others grow in their walk with Christ. She was an ordained Deacon and as a Stephen’s Minister she was trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life. Yvonne could often be found after church service in deep conversation with a church member who needed a listening ear. She was a mighty prayer warrior and could often be found in the sanctuary at 6:00 am for morning prayer before going to work. In addition to caring for her brothers and sisters in the church, Yvonne also served as a member of the Finance team where for many years she was committed to overseeing the timely and accurate recording of the weekly receipt of church funds. 

On February 28, 2025, Yvonne peacefully transitioned from labor to reward. She leaves to cherish her memory: her siblings Lawson, Evelyn and Rev. Grafton (Waltye), sisters-in-law, Marcia and Dolores, nephews, nieces, godchildren and friends as well as her Pentecostal Tabernacle church family. 

Yvonne will be missed but always remembered by her family and friends, until we meet again.
