Roberta Battle

Roberta, a lifelong resident of Somerville, MA passed away quietly on May 1, 2025.

Roberta known as "Lainey" to those who held her close was one of five children born to Theodore M. Tasker Sr. and Alice E. Tasker. She was a devoted mother to Kevin, Kim and Wayne (who preceded her in death) as well as her son-in-law Michael. Lainey is survived by her older sister Geraldine Tasker Layne "Geri", who she loved to no end. She was a proud grandmother of three; a great- grandmother of eight; and a great-great grandmother of one. She also shared her love with two bonus grands and four bonus great- grands.

Lainey was also a cherished aunt to a host of nieces and nephews that she loved fiercely, and a dear friend to many who loved her deeply. 

Her favorite way to spend the day was sitting on her porch listening to oldies but goodies and enjoying the company of the many friends who often stopped by just to sit and talk.

Her easy non-judgmental nature made her a joy to be around and a favorite across generations. 

Lainey: WE will feel the love you gave to us for the rest of our lives.
