PAULA (CARRINGTON) BINGHAM was born on December 13, 1932, to the late Wilhelmina (Steems) and Paul Carrington in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the Neville Center Nursing Home in Cambridge, MA.
Paula received her early education in the Cambridge school system, attending the Ellis Elementary School and Cambridge High and Latin School. She went on to study at, and graduate from, the Katharine Gibbs School with a degree in bookkeeping. Throughout her life, Paula worked for the New England Telephone Company, Sartori Electric, Sartori Insurance, and Coolidge Bank (Wainwright Bank, Eastern Bank) as a Customer Service Rep.
She met her beloved husband Frank Bingham in 1950, they were married in 1956, and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Paula, an only child, had always wanted to be part of a large family and was welcomed into the Bingham Family, where her husband Frank was the youngest of 9 children.
Paula and Frank had three children, and Paula was a “work at home” mother, keeping the books for several businesses as she cared for her family. She was very involved in all aspects of their lives as a member of the PTA, sports mom, dance mom, and Girl Scout leader for many years. Her most precious gift to her family was sharing her love of education, reading, music, and volunteerism.
Paula is survived by her husband, Frank Bingham; her son, Robert and his wife Julia of Somerville; and her daughter, Rene Taber of Milton. She was predeceased by her eldest son, Lee. Paula also leaves her five beloved grandchildren: Nicole, Ashley, Eleanor, Robert Jr., and Olivia; her great-granddaughter, Addison; and many other loving family members and friends.
