Muriel Williams Obituary

Muriel Aberdeen Williams, daughter of the late Bishop George M. Williams and Ismay (Walcott) Williams, was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on August 2, 1924. She was the fourth of five children born into the Williams family; namely: Louise V. Selman, Beryl L. McDougall, Audrey E. Edey and Christopher Williams. Muriel, her siblings and mother relocated to the island of Barbados where they resided while her father worked and traveled extensively in the United States preaching the Gospel. Years later, they returned back to the United States. Muriel worked for many years at B.F. Goodrich, Raytheon and an electronics company in the Fresh Pond area of Cambridge.

Muriel was a member of Christian Mission Holiness Church for over seventy years. She served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Ministry leader, Evangelist, and member of the Gospel Heralds Choir. She would regularly be asked to be one of the soloists at Christian Mission and district services. Muriel was also a very active mem- ber of the Silver Threads Club, sponsored by the Cambridge Salvation Army.

Muriel loved working as an "Avon" salesperson for many years. Her nieces and neph- ews would regularly find Avon products in their Christmas stockings. Although she never married, Aunt Muriel helped raise her eighteen nieces and nephews, and a host of other children from the church and the neighborhood.

Muriel leaves to mourn her passing many nieces and nephews, cousins and church family.
