Marie Laine Obituary

Marie Sonia Lainé, a beloved mother and devoted wife, passed away peacefully sleeping in her home in the presence of her family on August 11, 2024, in West Medford, MA. Born on March 21, 1950, in the vibrant coastal town of Leogane, Haiti, Sonia was known for her infectious spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep dedication to her family and the Evangelical Haitian community. From a young age, she demonstrated a remarkable zest for life, captivating all who knew her with her warm smile and generous heart.

Sonia's greatest joy came from her role as a mother to her two cherished children, Rachelle and Emmanuel Lainé. Her love knew no bounds as she poured herself into nurturing their dreams and instilling in them the values of service, compassion, resilience, and the love of God. Alongside her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Nicholas Lainé, whose steadfast love and support complemented her vibrant energy, Sonia's family was the center of her universe. Her home was a haven filled with laughter, love, and countless precious memories that will forever remain etched in the souls of those she touched.

A remarkable presence in her community, Sonia dedicated much of her time to volunteering and helping those in need, leaving a lasting impact. She will be remembered not only for her boundless love and devotion to her family, but also for her unwavering commitment to serving, uplifting, and praying for others. Though her death was unforeseen, her life was well-lived and will be forever cherished. As we gather to celebrate her life, we will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and hope as a faithful servant of Jesus ensuring that Sonia Lainé’s spirit lives on in our hearts and touches all we encounter.
