Mabel Stewart-Green was the fourth of five children born to Cecil Stewart and Satira Stewart, on May 2, 1935 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Both parents preceded her in death.
Mabel grew up and attended school in Jamaica, she later became an exceptional seamstress. She married Rashford Green and had seven children (4 daughters and 3 sons), all of whom currently reside in the United States. In 1989 Mabel migrated to the United States to re-join her children, she continued her work as a seamstress and also worked at Community Family Adult Day Health & Alzheimer’s Day Health Center, Medford MA, as well as in retail.
Mabel accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She attended Salt Spring Baptist Church for several years prior to moving to the United States and was baptized there. Upon migrating to the United States, Mabel continued her devoted relationship with the Lord and became a member of Union Baptist Church.
On Monday September 17, 2018, Mabel peacefully answered her Master’s call to rest. She is preceded in death: by her parents; her daughter Ann Green; and her brothers and sister, Baldwin Stewart, Cassel Stewart and Maudline Miller.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Marie (Joseph), Charm, Ruth, Carlene (Vinroy), Mark, John, Kirk. Her grandchildren; Maegan, Elizabeth, Sydney, Jordan, Chantelle, Jevon, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Camille, Kennedi, Janaya and Aneyda(Kevin); great grandchildren, Alexis and Croix. Mabel also leaves behind her sister Koseta Stewart, several nieces and nephews and countless family and friends.
