Lisa Ward Obituary

Lisa Lee Ann Ward was born to Richard “Buzzy” Ward and Joanne Ward (Brogna) on 4/25/1965. Lisa was raised in Somerville and Cambridge Massachusetts throughout her childhood. She graduated from Somerville High School in 1983 but also graduated with honors from the “school of hard knocks”. As an adult she lived between Cambridge and Boston. As an adult she was given the nick name “Lee Lee”. Lee Lee was notoriously fierce and known as a fighter, go getter and could transcend many circles. Lee Lee was legendary to many.

Lisa touched the lives and hearts of many. She had an infectious laugh and sense of humor that could bring tears of joy to your eyes. Lisa was a stunningly beautiful person who all noticed when she walked into a room. She also had a beautiful heart. Lisa was a caring person who took many into her home helped them to their feet. Lisa had some challenges in life but always landed on her feet. She had 27 years of sobriety and influential to others obtaining and maintaining their sobriety. Her commitment to her sobriety was motivational to others.

Lisa was a warrior and a fighter. She fought everyday of her life to live and survive Sickle Cell. She spent many days and nights in pain but would push through her Sickle Cell crisis’ to live her life. Lisa was an advocate for Sickle Cell awareness and was frequent guest on Cambridge and Somerville Public television educating people about Sickle Cell and providing her personal testimony. Over time her chronic illness gradually overtook her and she died of sickle cell on 4/27/2022. When you think of Lisa think of her as a warrior. When you speak of her keep her memory alive by Sharing her courage, kindness and humor. There will only be one Lisa Ward aka Lee Lee… Lisa was a real one and we lost a good one. She stood up for the underdog, was tenacious and didn’t waste much time with ignorance. She managed hardship with grace and shined when life was good. Lisa leaves her loving mother Joanne Barrett Haramis and her stepdad Harry Haramis “Pops”, her Aunt Carol Johnson and Cousins Ria Johnson and Tanya Johnson also Jermaine, Andrew, Monique and Rojulio, Kiana and Andre. She leaves her God Brother Rodney Lee. Her maternal Cousins Marilyn, Ellen, Donna and Laura. She leaves her brother Gary Green and the Green Family, Sister Muffin Waters and, Brother Richard Waters and siblings. She leaves aunt Marlene Crawford. She leaves paternal Cousins Gene Ward, Tara Kennedy, Michael Terry and Michelle Terry and many other cousins. She leaves Friends Renae, Tarsha (cousin), Nikki, Michelle, Bobby and Janine, a special thanks to Kern Tyler for taking such GREAT care of Lisa. Lisa had an extensive family off choice who mourn her. Anyone not mentioned please know it was not intentional as there are too many others who she loved and loved her to mention.
