Lillian Estella Crayton, beloved daughter of the late Lornie B and Florence Payne of Cambridge, MA, was born on September 17, 1945 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Lillian was summoned home to Glory and entered into eternity with the Lord on December 29, 2021. Lillian grew up in Cambridge, where she attended Cambridge Latin High School. After high school, Lillian worked for the city of Cambridge in City Hall; then she worked and retired from the Middlesex District Court in the Probation Office. Lillian loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She did not understand the meaning of "NO" when it came to them. “No” to her grands meant “Yes”. In fact, Lillian found it hard to tell anyone no. Lillian was known to her Nephews and Nieces as "AUNTIE", and everyone knows that in her case, Auntie meant “second” Mother.
Preceding Lillian in death was her beloved brother Norman (Mary) Payne of Cambridge, MA and sister Charlotte (Louis) Ward of Greenville, N.C. She leaves to honor the memory of her love and kindness: her two sons, Darryl (Lynn) Crayton of Bellingham, MA and Tracy (DiOnetta) Crayton of Holbrook, MA. Her two daughters, Delisa Adair-Crayton and Justina (Dana Ellcock) Crayton, both of Cambridge, MA. Two loving sisters, Loretta (Paul) Simmons of Cambridge, MA and Florence (Robert) West of Somerville, MA. Two special friends, the late Robert Crayton and Richard Dias. Twelve Grandchildren: Darryl, Jr. of Lynn; Brent, Justin, and Ciara Lillian Marie of Bellingham; Kayla of Middletown R.I.; Shawn of Plymouth and Deseray and LaDon Jr. of Cambridge; Ja'Lisa of Beverly, Marshall of Atlanta, GA, and Ja'Dana and Ja'Niya of Cambridge. Four Great-Grandchildren: Tony of Beverly, Khalib of Medford, Jeremiah of Middletown R.I., and Draia of Cambridge, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and special friends.
