James M Henry

James Milton Henry Sr. was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on January 27th, 1933 to the late Katherine and Russell Henry. He was the youngest of four children. He was educated in the Cambridge school system and became a lifetime resident of Cambridge.

James, or Jim as he was affectionately called, married the late Shirley Hairston on August 16th 1958. From this union there were three children; Jimmy, Keith, and Sharon. They were married for almost 61 years.

Jim was employed by various companies but spent the majority of his working years with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was employed for 25 years.

He loved working with his hands and could often be found strolling the aisles of Home Depot gathering inspiration for his next project. Jim had a passion for gambling and watching old westerns. How blessed he was to be doing both of these things when he peacefully passed.

Jim departed this life on Friday, June 24, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory his son James Henry Jr. and daughter-in-law Harriet of Boston, his son Keith Henry and daughter-in-law Alyssa of Natick, his daughter Sharon Bell and son-in-law Tyrone of Malden, and his three grandchildren: Taylor Simone Henry, Alexandra Parris Henry and Justin Trey Bell. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He would always tell Justin to “Hang Tough,” and I believe he would advise us to do the same today.
