Iselma Carrington Obituary

Iselma Brathwaite Carrington was born in St. Philip, Barbados, to Irvin and Delcina Brathwaite. Educated in the local school system, Iselma moved to England to begin her training as a nurse. After completing her education, Iselma moved to the US, where she met and married Edric R. Carrington. To this union, two children were born; Vannessa and Edric Jr.

Known for her candor, compassion, and sense of humor, Iselma worked as a geriatric nurse in several facilities. She was proud to be a longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church, treasuring the friendships she made over the years. Iselma was an avid gardener who loved to show off her roses, and she delighted in dressing up for Halloween to pass out candy in the neighborhood. She loved fashion, singing, dancing, traveling, celebrity news, and was passionate about politics.

Iselma was predeceased by her husband, Edric, her parents, and her brother Anthony. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Vannessa (Carlton) of Watertown, MA; son, Edric Jr.(Love) of Waltham, MA; beloved grandson, Justin; and sisters Golda, Joyce, Mercil, Grace, and Lena; sister-in-law Beverly, a host of beloved nieces and nephews, close friends and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. James Episcopal Church in Cambridge (1991 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140) or to the Cambridge Community Center (5 Callender St., Cambridge 02139)
