April 4, 1938 – October 5, 2021 Edna Earl Roberts, 83, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Ayden, North Carolina, on October 5, 2021. She was born in 1938 in Raleigh, North Carolina, the daughter of James Odell Raspberry and Willie Beatrice Raspberry. She moved to New Hampshire in 1956, where she lived briefly before moving to Massachusetts. Edna lived, worked, and raised a family in the Boston area for many years before retiring to Ayden, North Carolina.

Edna enjoyed music, dancing and was an excellent cook. Upon her retirement, she also began gardening and taking swim classes at the local pool. Edna often spent hours on her front porch chatting with her many friends and neighbors. She took great pride in her beautifully decorated home where she surrounded herself with butterflies, a symbol of hope and rebirth.

Edna Earl Roberts was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Adrienne Y. Roberts and her devoted partner, Jesse Quinerly, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Kevin Shepherd; her son James Roberts Jr., and his partner Sara, all of Massachusetts. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
