Darlene Murrell Obituary

Darlene Murrell was born on March 18, 1956 in Cambridge, MA to Robert W. Murrell, Sr. and Helen N. Murrell (Jackson). She was raised, educated and lived her entire life in Cambridge and was quite proud to be a Cantabrigian.

She was a strong woman who lived life on her terms. She worked hard and strived to be her own individual and to be understood, as well as respected. She enjoyed over many years to indulge in crafts, collectible items and cooking.

Darlene met the love of her life, Eurie Stamps, Sr., with whom she had a son, Kyon Eirue Stamps-Murrell. Darlene and Eurie shared a portion of their lives together in love and raised Kyon.

Being a mom was her one joy and a wonderful experience. She was very proud of her son and their love was unique.

Darlene also had the wonderful experience of being a surrogate mom, in a time of need, when she and Eurie were together, to three other lovely children (Robin, Eurie, Jr. and Marlon).

Darlene worked various jobs throughout her life; last time working in family and child care  services; at ABCD in Boston, MA. One job she worked hard at and enjoyed, was being one of the few female construction laborers on the Charles Hotel construction project, in Harvard Square, Cambridge MA. She shared that fond memory often.

Darlene passed on the morning of October 27, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert Sr. and Helen Murrell and the late Anthony Purter. She leaves to mourn passing: her son, Kyon Eirue Stamps-Murrell, (Charles), Houston, TX, brothers and sisters: Robert Murrell, Jr. (Sandra), Cambridge, MA, Carlita Murrell, Randolph, MA, Wanda Aubourg, Everett, MA, Wayne Murrell, Salem, MA, Keith Murrell, Dorchester, MA, Jana Milton (Kurtis), Hyde Park, MA, Laurette Walker (Stephen), Norwood, MA, Rena Cliette (Vernon), Atlanta, GA, Douglas Murrell (Marvia), Bridgewater, MA, Jaman Murrell (Bridget), Taunton, MA, Cheryl Walker, Almeda, CA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncle and close friends who were all dear to her.
