Bishop Isidore Jeune Obituary

Isidore Jeune grew up in Arniquet, Haiti, near Les Cayes. He was born in 1939, the middle child of nine children consisting of three brothers and five sisters. (Leonard, Bernadette, Rene, Elizabeth, (Isidore), Morel, Elise, Suzette, Mona).

He attended Primary school at Ecole rural national D’arniquet secondary school at Licee Philp Guerier.

In his youth, Isidore was very involved in the community of Arniquet as a member of several community organizations. He fortified peer relationships among the young members of the community through musical engagement via an organization called Eclat. He himself picked up the accordion and later in life, the acoustic guitar.

He went on to work with Service National et Education de la Malaria (SNEM), an organization dedicated to providing malaria prevention education in his community.

Later, he moved to the Port-au-Prince where in 1968 at the age of 29 he enrolled and attended seminary school at Seminaires Theologique de L’église de Dieu

While attending Eglise De Dieu de la Rue du Centre, he met the love of his life and his future devoted bride, Immacula Clerge and married on September 9, 1970.

After his graduation from Seminary school in 1972, He continued his ministry in Haiti for 7 years where at one point he lead L'eglise de Dieu a St. Mark and L'eglise the Dieu a Bourdon.

In 1979, he moved to the United States and settled in Cambridge. He waisted no time to get to work. He established a Church of God congregation in Cambridge where he led as their pastor for over two decades.

At the age of 65, when most people are preparing for retirement, Isidore was inspired to continue his work with the church and moved to Florida in 2003 to lead the First Haitian Church of God in West Palm Beach where he faithfully served his congregation for 14 years.

Although Isidore retired from church leadership in December 2016, he continued ministerial work in various ways. Bishop Isidore Jeune passed away on December 6, 2021 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, four sons, two daughters, four siblings and 15 grandchildren.

Pastor Isidore Jeune has touched more lives in a lifetime than most people could imagine. In 2 countries, across 2 states so many lives were changed. People he has converted, baptized, married, kids has “presenté au temple”.

He was a father to his biological children, but also, he was a spiritual father to many in the community.

Pastor Jeune worked hard doing the Lord’s work on this earth. His time has come to be laid to rest. His recompense shall be received in heaven.
