April R Akers

April Rosemary Akers (Horton), 70, died suddenly on March 6, 2020, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on April 1, 1949 and lived most of her life in Cambridge, MA. She was the third child born to Edna A. (Carland) and John A. Horton. She is survived by three siblings: Lawrence P. Scannell (Lutz, FL), Leslie Saxman (Lutz, FL), Lynne Horton (Somerville, MA), and preceded in death by one sibling, Sheila J. Horton.

She had two children: Dawn L. Akers of Boston, MA and Lawrence P. Akers (and wife, Deanna) of Chepachet, RI.

She has 10 grandchildren: Jeffrey M. Solomon, Tyleek D. Solomon, Tatyana R. Sayers, Michael T. Walsh, Mikylya D. Akers, Ryan P. Akers, Dennis E. Friendly-Akers, Jacqualyne N. Akers, Aryianahjade H .King, Jameson P. Akers.

She also had five great grandchildren: Aniahlisse M. Guzman, Azaryah K.R. Akers, Ka'Myah C.R. Summerlin, Lenaryiie W. Summerlin and Jinatzu S. Solomon. And lots of nieces and nephews.

She was a business owner, home owner and served in the Army Reserves. She was very involved with the Senior Center, BINGO was her passion, and she loved to dote on her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
