Welcome to the memorial page for

Kathleen A Worrell

July 4, 1938 ~ October 10, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Kathleen Agatha Worrell was born on July 4, 1938 to Altamont and Deborah Worrell in Preston Hill, St. Mary, Jamaica West Indies.

She was the last of 9 children.

She was married to Anthony Peart in 1965 but he pre-deceased her in 2005.  She had two children, Maxine and Karren, 6 grandchildren and 1 great great-grand child.

Kathleen was affectionately called ‘K’ by her brothers and sisters and ‘Aunt K’ by her nieces, nephews and family friends.  She was the ‘life’ of the party and was always there to put a smile on everyone’s face.  She was not one to take life too seriously but believed in having fun and enjoying life to the fullest.  She lived her life according to Proverbs 17: 22 ‘A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones’.  Whenever you were in her presence you would be sure to have a ‘bellyful’ of laughter because of her grand sense of humor and cheerful spirit.

She was a very warm, loving, kind and generous person.  She was the one to give a helping hand or share her last dollar if someone needed it. She opened up her home to everyone.  Those who migrated to the US from Jamaica could always rely on ‘Aunt K’ for a place to stay until they were settled.

When she migrated from Jamaica to the United States in 1969 it was in search of a better life for her family. It was a difficult decision to leave her children then, but eventually she was able to offer them the same opportunity a few years later.

When she became ill a few years ago she fought hard and even through her pain she was able keep those around her smiling.  It was difficult to know how ill she was because she never complained and kept her humor.  She lost her battle on October 10, 2017.

‘Aunt K’ will be sadly missed and always cherished in our hearts. She leaves to mourn:  her sister, Frances Notice, two children, Maxine Brown and Karren Goulbourne, 6 Grandchildren, Nneka, Abigail, Andre, Kristen-Kaye, Kimberly-Anne and Peter-John and one great-grand child, Justin.
