Although denied a formal education, she was often sought after for her advice and wisdom in resolving family matters.  Those who knew her knew that she was not shy in voicing her opinion in contentious affairs. And her voice was welcomed.

Throughout her life, she worked and owned many farms while in Haiti. In addition, to her seven children, she often took in and raised others to provide them with better opportunities. Many of those children considered her to be their second mother. She will forever be remembered for her kindness and generosity of heart.
