Annemarie Hackett

Cambridge---Mrs. Annemarie C. (Barbour) Hackett, age 80, died on Sunday, May 14, 2017; after a long duration under hospice care.  


Born in Boston, Annemarie was the eldest of five daughters born to the late Earl L. and Alice M. Barbour.  She was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Matignon High School.  After graduating from Chandler School for Women in Boston, Annemarie worked as a legal secretary until the birth of her only child.  Later, for many years, she enjoyed a career as a paralegal.  Her many friends will remember her love of dancing and her passion for playing cards.  Upon retirement, Annemarie treasured her gardens, and was an excellent seamstress, a serious quilter who taught quilting at the Cambridge Senior Center.  

 

Annemarie is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Kenley Hackett of Cambridge; her son Mark Hackett Jr. and his wife Cheryl of  NY,  her sisters: Elizabeth Dorsey and husband Norman of Brookline, Carole Rutherford of Hudson, Dale Kapp and husband Paul of Falmouth, and Diane Watson of Somerville. She leaves her adored three grandchildren: Darielle , Cayce  and Marque Hackett; as well as three great-grandchildren.

 

 In accordance with her wishes, Annemarie's  service will be for family members.   If desired, donations may be sent to: Good Shepherd Community Care, 90 Wells Avenue, Newton, MA 02459.
